Lahinch Half Marathon & 6 Mile – Sunday, September 20th, 2026
The Lahinch Half Marathon & 6 Mile returns for its second edition on Sunday, September 20th, 2026, following a sell-out inaugural event in 2025 with 1,500 participants. For 2026, we’re set to go even bigger, with over 2,000 runners expected to line up along the Wild Atlantic Way.
The race offers two distances:
Half Marathon (21.1km) – starting at 9:00am
6 Mile (9.6km) – starting at 9:30am
Both routes begin on the iconic Lahinch Liscannor Road, taking in breathtaking views of the Atlantic coastline before winding through the picturesque village of Liscannor and the surrounding Clare countryside. Runners will experience a mix of coastal stretches, rural roads, and vibrant community support along the way, before returning to finish back in Lahinch.
With the atmosphere of a major city race combined with the charm of a coastal village, the Lahinch Half Marathon & 6 Mile promises a unique and unforgettable experience. The event will once again be supported by local GAA clubs and community volunteers, ensuring smooth organisation, stewarding, and plenty of encouragement along the course.
Participants will receive:
A custom finisher’s medal
Race T-shirt
Fully chip-timed results
Access to on-course water stations and post-race refreshments
Whether you’re chasing a personal best, building towards a marathon, or simply want to take part in one of Ireland’s fastest-growing races, Lahinch is the place to be this September.
Spaces are limited and expected to sell out quickly after the success of 2025 – so don’t miss your chance to be part of this spectacular race on the Wild Atlantic Way!
